Burnham Grammar School (BGS) is located in Buckinghamshire on the fringe of Greater London. There are approximately 1265 students on roll within years 7-13. There are just under 400 students in the 6th form. BGS is a mixed selective school where attainment is significantly above the national average in England. BGS has significantly fewer SEND and FSM students when compared to all schools in England, but a greater number when compared to other grammar schools. 7% SEND, 33% EAL, 10.1% FSM.
School goals and ambitions
It is our desire to further enhance the provision of support for the wellbeing of students at Burnham Grammar School. We begin with a firm belief (supported by Optimus' accreditation of the Wellbeing Award for Schools in 2021) that we have good provision, however that provision needs to be reviewed, maintained and further enhanced where appropriate as an on-going project. We wish to now build on the foundations of the current award as time moves on and the impacts of Covid and multiple lockdowns become ever more apparent in the lives of our students.

It is our desire to further enhance the provision of support for the wellbeing of staff at Burnham Grammar School. We begin with a firm belief (supported by the Investors in People accreditation of their Gold award in January 2024) that we have a good provision, however, we are always looking to improve and enhance this. After the COVID-19 pandemic, it has become more apparent that we need look after our staff as the ability to work from home or even hybrid work is unavailable and we want to keep our staff in the profession.
