School goals and ambitions
As a school, we aim to strengthen mental health awareness through staff training, enhancing understanding of issues affecting pupils and how to provide effective support. This fosters a joined-up approach between staff, pupils, and parents. We want all teachers to confidently identify and refer pupils to support promptly. Establishing a peer-led wellbeing leadership team will promote empathy, amplify pupil voice, and embed sustainable practices. We will improve opportunities to develop emotional wellbeing across the curriculum, use pupil feedback to address specific issues, and enable children to understand and manage their own wellbeing.

Impact school context
At Witton, we pride ourselves on nurturing and supporting pupils’ mental health and wellbeing. Through this award, we have strengthened our whole-school approach by equipping staff to identify needs early, use in-school services effectively, and signpost families to external agencies. Pupil feedback has helped shape and refine the PSHCE curriculum, ensuring wellbeing education reflects pupil priorities and real-life experiences. The introduction of the Witton Wellbeing Warriors has promoted meaningful peer-led support and increased pupil ownership of wellbeing. As a result, pupils report feeling happier, more confident, and supported, knowing that help is always available.
