School goals and ambitions
The intentions of our mental wellbeing strategy are to destigmatise, raise awareness and promote positive lifestyle choices for mental and emotional wellbeing amongst our students. We aim to create an environment rich in diversity, where all feel represented as discrimination can leave children feeling confused and isolated, which in turn can have a significant impact on their mental health, creating barriers which affect readiness to learn, ability to thrive and engagement in learning. We aim to build a universal support network in school for wellbeing as well as develop our targeted offer where more specialist support is required. We will include our students in this process.

Impact school context
Our wellbeing offer has significantly changed, now with a tiered system (universal, targeted and specialist), that has been shaped with consultation from our Student Leadership Group. We have set up a wellbeing room and timetable of usage during breaks, lunch times and lesson time, a trained team of student Wellbeing Ambassadors and Mentors to younger years, specific calendared time throughout the year to focus on mental health and wellbeing so that it is part of our curriculum, increased our usage of our wellbeing dog (Douglas) and trained up a team of pastoral support officers in ELSA. We work as part of a cluster of school to share services offered at borough level such as therapy.
