School context
We are an SEND school for children with a primary need of autism. All our pupils have an Education Health Care Plan. We have 116 pupils on roll, ranging from 4 to 16 years. We are in Camberwell, South East London. 79% of our pupils are eligible for free school meals, and 49% are EAL.
School goals and ambitions
Ensuring that our pupils are happy, safe, and healthy is central to our school vision. Our students are among the most vulnerable, so providing them with opportunities to develop their social, emotional, and physical health and well-being is key to building their resilience. By collaborating to meet the benchmarks for the Pupil Wellbeing Award, we will create an environment where strong systems are in place to help our pupils develop self-awareness, social awareness, self-worth, and confidence. With this focus at the core of our approach, pupils will be better equipped to face the challenges that life after school will inevitably bring, enabling them to grow into the best adults they can be.

Impact school context
A Wellbeing and Mental Health Action Group, with staff, pupils, leadership, and parent involvement, now leads this work across the school. We trained a Senior Mental Health Lead and staff in mental health first aid, while pupils took on roles such as wellbeing champions through the student council.
A programme of inclusive activities was introduced, including mindfulness, daily Daily Mile sessions, Zones of Regulation, and targeted support groups. Wellbeing is now reflected in PSHE, PE, and Food Technology, and supported through assemblies, posters, and referral pathways. We also increased parent engagement through resources, training, and support for families.
