School context
St. Brigid’s is a one form entry Primary School (Nursery - Year 6) based in Knowsley and serves an area of extremely high social and economic deprivation. Data shows that the majority of our pupils reside in the 10% most deprived areas (MIME Report – Sept 2023). Over the past three years, we have seen a rise in the number of pupils with EAL as our Eastern European and African communities continue to grow. We have also seen a significant rise in the number of pupils who need additional support (emotional and academic), as well as those who have been identified as in need of specialist support via the SEND register.
School goals and ambitions
To ensure children become more resilient learners.
To equip the school community e.g. staff, parents/carers with strategies they can use at home to support resilience and wellbeing.
