As well as our mainstream school, we have two ASD Bases. One base is at Avenue (Trailblazer Base) and the second satellite base is on a nearby site. (Explorer Base).
We are a very diverse school with 71% of Pupils from Ethnic Minority Backgrounds and 56.4% of Pupils with English as an additional language.
We have 126 Children with EHCPs, 77 children on SEN Support and 83 children on SEN Monitoring.

School goals and ambitions
Avenue Primary Academy takes a whole school approach to promoting positive mental health which aims to create an open and positive culture that encourages discussion and understanding of mental health issues for our whole school community: pupils, staff and parents/carers. We believe we have a key role in promoting pupils’ positive mental health and helping to prevent mental health problems.
We hope that the journey we take to achieve this award helps us to consolidate and improve what we are currently doing to support pupil wellbeing, and introduce things that we have not yet thought of.

Impact school context
Completing this award has been invaluable for consolidating and improving our provision for pupil wellbeing. Our whole-school approach has led to a noticeable shift in attitudes toward physical and mental health. Pupils are more confident in discussing their emotions, using strategies to support their wellbeing, and showing greater resilience. Teaching staff are more confident to support pupils and long term CPD has been put in place to ensure that this in maintained. Parental engagement has improved, and this is another thing that we wish to build on moving forward.
