Impact school context
At GFS we have made outdoor learning a central pillar of our educational approach. This success is rooted in a whole-school mission co-created with pupils, a shared positive language, and student-led awareness campaigns, all of which have cultivated pride, ownership, and deep community engagement. With dedicated leadership including an Outdoor and PD Lead in EYFS (home to our Little Change Makers), a KS1 Outdoor Learning Lead, and a Head of Enrichment, we have seamlessly integrated regular fieldwork like orienteering and map skills. We have planned outdoor experiences into our timetables and curriculum. This approach has strengthened our vibrant enrichment programme and enhanced wellbeing.
