School context
Wilkinson Primary School is situated in a deprived area in Bradley Bilston. There are currently 502 children on roll, 41% of whom are classed as disadvantaged on the Pupil Premium strategy statement. Bradley's population is stable, many of the children's parents and grandparents attended the school. School has approximately 9% of pupils attending on the SEN register and support is given across all four areas of need. The school has a relatively low number of EAL children but this is rising year on year. We are a two form entry school with a Nursery and Terrific For Two's facility. Foundation stage have a current roll of 150 children. Language is an area of particular need.
School goals and ambitions
Following a fire in 2010 the entire school site went through a period of complete remodelling. An important part of this process was to ensure the grounds would give children excellent outdoor learning opportunities. Historically our children have limited aspirations and their cultural capital is affected because of the the socio-economic deprivation in the local area. Increasingly the school has needed to provide a broader curriculum than either the national curriculum and the previous EYFS allowed. This lack of experience has been pounded by Covid19 restrictions causing us to reflect on how we use our outdoor area to enhance children's outcomes.

Impact school context
During this academic year many changes have taken place with our outdoor areas. Children have been able to play a vital part in designing and changing how we use the outdoor areas. During school council meetings the children have been discussing the different activities they would like to see take place across their year groups and areas they would like to see change.
Staff have made the EYFS much more accessible for the children to access the resources, developing different areas across the curriculum, making boxes available for the children to have easier access to.
Staff (including the dinner ladies) have taken part in training from outside agencies, enhancing their practice.
