St Cecilia's RC High School is a mainstream secondary school located in the Longridge near Preston in Lancashire. We are a smaller than average, oversubscribed secondary school, currently with 564 students on roll. We teach students from 11-16.
10% of our students are on the SEND register and 2% of students have an EHCP. The percentage of students receiving Pupil Premium funding is 24%.
School goals and ambitions
We have decided to undertake this award to celebrate some of the fantastic practice that we already have in place and to continue to support our students through the sharing of good practice and development of new strategies to support wellbeing.
Post pandemic we have seen a significant rise in the deterioration of young people's mental health and an increase in interventions and support required for students to maintain healthy lifestyles and good mental health. The award will help us to gather an overview of what is already effective within our school and how we can further develop our support so all students are happy and healthy.

Impact school context
Our students and staff are now more actively involved in supporting mental health and wellbeing across the school, it is everyones responsibility. Students have happily engaged in activities such as hello yellow, sports day and ambassador led activities. The number of students seeking out support has increased and students are open to discussing mental health issues.
