Areas for further development
Continue to seek feedback on all aspects of provision - and the impact of any changes - to ensure that support for staff continues to meet their developing needs. As well as annual surveys, use focus groups and other means to investigate the impact of particular aspects of provision so that these can be fine-tuned to accomodate the needs of all colleagues.

Comments on impact identified during validation
Positive feedback from the annual trust survey, alongside evidence from classroom staff meetings, professional learning days, staff appraisals etc have demonstrated the benefits of new marking and reporting systems, the schools flexible working policy etc on staff wellbeing. A flexible approach to the timings of parents evenings and other events has minimised their impact on staff's commitments outside of work (see below).
Comments on impact identified during validation
The school has trained 8 MH First Aiders and the wellbeing lead is currently undertaking SMHL training. It has also created a wellbeing policy. Staff feedback demonstrates the effectiveness of the leader's open and positive approach to supporting the emotional and mental health of its staff.
Comments on impact identified during validation
Staff enjoy ‘nurture days’ when they undertake acts of kindness for individual colleagues. Evidence included positive feedback about a number of staff clubs (running, a book club etc), discounted yoga sessions and other provision. Leaders are mindful of caring and other responsibilities and model a positive approach to flexible working to accommodate these.
Comments on impact identified during validation
Leaders take care to formally acknowledge individual members of staff in weekly messages and through other routes. Evidence included positive feedback about this form non-teaching colleagues
Comments on impact identified during validation
This area emerged as a particular strength with high numbers of staff on P/T contracts and specific actions such as allowing staff to indicate their availability for parents’ evenings rather than this being dictated by the school – thereby ensuring that out of hours activities impact as little as possible on personal lives.
Comments on impact identified during validation
The wellbeing lead is undertaking SMHL training and is clearly well supported in her responsibilities by school leaders. Several staff are qualified MH First Aiders and a lead governor for wellbeing has been appointed. Evidence included positive feedback about the support provided to staff by the wellbeing lead.
Comments on impact identified during validation
Staff at all levels have access to coaching to support their professional development. Others have gained qualifications through the NPQ providers linked to the MAT’s training school. Evidence includes positive feedback from staff who have accessed training.
